What Happens First?

Prior to tuition commencing, we will arrange to meet with parents at your home. This is an opportunity for us to explain what we strive for in terms of supporting your child, and for your child to meet us in a relaxed context.

This part of the service is free of charge.

What is Involved in the Sessions?

The first session is an assessment session which allows us to find out your child's current learning level and areas of need in order to correctly support your child.

Sessions are delivered in 30 or 45 minutes, and 1 hour, and involve:

30 minutes

Phonics teaching: 25 minutes

Personalised feedback: 5 minutes

45 minutes

Phonics teaching: 40 minutes

Personalised feedback: 5 minutes

1 hour

Phonics teaching: 50 minutes

Personalised feedback: 10 minutes

Personalised feedback relates to your child's achievements within the session and areas of focus for the next session. It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and share any concerns you may have.

You will also receive a detailed Phonics Report each half term, formally outlining your child's achievements and areas of focus, as well as strategies and activity ideas you can try at home to further support your child throughout the following half term.
