Founder & Phonics Tutor
I have extensive experience of supporting children from birth to 11 years of age, having worked in the Early Years and Education sectors for 12 years. Throughout my career, I have successfully delivered Systematic Synthetic Phonics (SSP) programmes such as Read Write Inc and Jolly Phonics in whole class and small group contexts.
I am deeply passionate about supporting children's Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) and development. I am a qualified Nuffield Early Language Intervention (NELI) Practitioner, Level 3 Elklan trained, and have completed specialist training through The Speech & Language Garden and in evidence-based approaches including Colourful Semantics, The Zones of Regulation, Language for Thinking, Word Aware and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
I take pride in my work of identifying and actively supporting many young children with a range of speech and language needs in small groups and one-to-one, such as phonological awareness and articulation, listening and attention, memory and processing, expressive and receptive language, social communication and interaction, Selective Mutism and emotional regulation. Early assessment and intervention are important to me, and ensures children can reach their full potential throughout their school life and beyond.
My calm and patient nature reassures children, while bringing fun and excitement to my sessions motivates them. By giving early, consistent support and extra time, each child I have assisted made tremendous progress and flourished!
I have an Enhanced DBS Check, am fully insured and am a Verified Member of The Tutors' Association.
